(In behavioral healthcare)
My professional career in behavioral healthcare has been a rewarding one. In addition to my residential and outpatient treatment experience as a therapist and eventually clinical director in the field of eating and co-occurring disorders. I have also held positions in senior leadership, most recently serving as the Assistant Director of Nationwide Operations over Center For Discovery’s adolescent mental health and dual diagnosis treatment division. My passion for helping individuals navigate their recovery path was established during my clinical training (years ago) at the Atlanta Center For Eating Disorders (ACE), where I had the privilege of practicing under the supervision of Drs. Rick Kilmer & Linda Buchanan. Under the umbrella of eating disorder treatment and over the years, I have had the privilege of working with kids, teens, young adults, adults, mature adults couples and families. With the exception of inpatient treatment, I have provided clinical services in all levels of care and understand the unique obstacles associated with the recovery process.
I have been invited to speak throughout the state regarding issues surrounding ambiguous loss. As well as the unique factors surrounding eating disorder symptoms, stigma, education and care in communities of color. My clinical expertise has afforded me several opportunities to appear on the Dr. Phil Show as a guest expert regarding youth in need of support and behavioral correction.
I am also a certified Body Positive facilitator, trauma trained clinician, and advocate for increasing mental health literacy in schools and disenfranchised communities.
